Open Mind

As a nurse it is very important to utilize the skills and knowledge we have to help benefit the patient. As a nurse one must keep an open mind towards patients. It is easier said than done, however when dealing with a patient that is perhaps different or perhaps difficult one must maintain a calm presence. There are many ways in which a nurse may conduct his or herself with a patient. A nurse may influence a patient’s comfort level in which he or she presents herself by using non-verbal cues. Essentially, a nurse’s body language may influence a client’s way in perceiving a nurse’s sincerity.
